About Jérôme Koechlin
A career dedicated to serving leaders
A diplomat by training and by nature, Jérôme Koechlin brings over 20 years of experience to leaders from the political, economic, academic, media, and philanthropic spheres. He has supported or worked alongside figures such as Nelson Mandela, Kofi Annan, Ernesto Bertarelli, Patrick Odier, François Reyl, Jasmine Audemars, Ariane de Rothschild, and François Longchamp.
His background:
- Former journalist and war correspondent, and Head of Protocol for the State of Geneva
- Communications executive in the banking, biotech, public, media, academic, and philanthropic sectors
- Lecturer in communication and leadership at the University of Geneva
- Member of several Swiss and international foundations and institutions

Education
Jérôme Koechlin holds degrees from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (IHEID – Bachelor’s in International Relations, 1986), New York University (Master’s in Communication, 1988), and the University of Geneva (PhD in Economic and Social Sciences, 2003).
He also holds a Certificate from the Swiss Board School – International Center for Corporate Governance (2020), a Master Class Certificate in Philanthropy from the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation (2022), and a Leadership Management International – LMI Certificate (2023–2025).
He writes a blog on leadership and communication for the Swiss business magazine Bilan, and is the author of numerous articles and several books on international relations and communication.
